The first edition of the BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt is initially limited to only 61 guitars. This exclusive guitar is crafted with a lot of handiwork by the renowned luthier Trevor Wilkinson. The pickups come from pickup guru Andreas Kloppmann, a long-time friend of Thomas Blug. Thomas has played a 1961 Fender® Stratocaster® almost his entire life. As a professional, he has used this guitar on all stages and in all studios around the world. However, its original qualities were not enough for the tireless \"tinkerer\"; Thomas constantly optimized his favorite guitar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe frets were filed in such a way that the typical buzzing or fretting out at high positions when bending strings was compensated for by filing a compound radius. This preserves the authentic vintage radius playing feel, while still allowing for large bends with a good string action. The unpleasant hum, especially with overdrive sounds, is greatly reduced by a switchable dummy coil, so that high-gain sounds without buzzing and glassy highs are just as good as the authentic, pearly ST-typical clean sounds. Tuning stability has been optimized by a special string tree and vibrato setting with only 5 screws. A special \"no treble-loss\" capacitor over the volume pot retains the beautiful highs even when turning down the volume pot on the guitar. The bridge plate of the BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt is extremely hardened. The saddles are also as close as possible to the original parts. Only selected woods are used for the neck and body of this guitar that truly authentically reflect the character of the original '61. For the ultimate tone, Andreas Kloppmann and Thomas Blug developed a special pickup set for this guitar. The tone of the BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt was repeatedly compared with that of Thomas' old favorite guitar until everything was perfect. Of course, the BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt also has all the other special features of Thomas' original '61, such as the \"BUKKA™\" switch, a switchable dummy coil, and the \"treble capacitor\" over the volume pot, which retains the highs when the volume control is turned down.
